MIT team celebrates its good qualifications

The Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía hosted last sunday the second edition of the Robotics Tournament First Lego League (FLL), in which participated about 150 children between 10 and 16 years of a dozen schools in the province.

MIT students took part in the competition by building and programming robots using engineering concepts to solve real problems about food security, as this was the leit-motif of the tournament -each year, it focuses on a different theme related to science or technology.

So, to participate in the Food Factor challenge, MIT ESO students have examined the possible sources of contamination that occur in foods: from insects exposure to non-sterile processing and subsequent transport, or preparation without health guarantees and storage. Finally, they have sought ways to prevent or combat such pollution.

The team achieved very good grades at the event. Now, the jury will evaluate their science project to see if the team qualifies for the national stage!
