Stemxion is a company set up by teachers, technicians and engineers with the objective of promoting technology and engineering courses in schools, as they consider these the driving force of the growth of modern society. They adopt this aim from the Anglo education systems (especially from the U.S. and UK), and share it with MIT School, host of their summer courses.

However, during the course of 2012/2013, the school aims to definitively incorporate training in pre-engineering and robotics in its educational offer hrough two aspects. On one hand, offering it as an extracurricular activity, and secondly, inserting it into the pre-school curriculum.

Both of the workshops have as a motto “learning-by-doing”. “First practice, then learn”, reads their philosophy. Thus, the courses are based partly on construction and partly on programming, and there’s no need of any prior knowledge to begin, “just willingness” and creativity.

At the end of each module, a challenge is proposed, in order for the students to test their learning and be able to solve it with their knowledge and new ideas. Maybe they can use it as training for the forthcoming First Lego League, although it will be difficult to get even more prizes!
