The Federación Empresarial Andaluza de Sociedades Laborales, FEANSAL, has awarded the X Andalusia Work-owned Companies Awards, and MIT has been awarded the prize for the Most Entrepreneurial Company. The reason why the jury has proceeded this way is, above all, the consolidation of the business project in Andalusia:

“This work-owned company opened its facilities in September 2010, with 28 partners-employees, offering only a first educational line from primary school to high school. Only two years later, MIT offers a second educational line from primary to high school, and has also introduced activities such as the Official Elementary Music Conservatory and the Official Elementary Dancing Conservatory, approved by the Government of Andalusia. They have also introduced the  Baccalaureate Dual Program, which offers to high school students the opportunity to obtain two certificates simultaneously: the Spanish Bachillerato, valid throughout the European Union, and the USA Baccalaureate, valid in the USA.

The institution is also working on the possibility of introducing a Social Economics course, in order to teach the students its principles and values, as they are along the same lines as MIT School’s project. Currently, the MIT School SLL consists of a staff of 64 working partners, where virtually all the staff is part of the company. This enhance the motivation and involvement of the workers in the educational project that raises this school, because this is the only way they can pursue a high level of excellence in all areas of knowledge. “

The awards will be presented on September 28 in the auditorium of the Escuela de Organización Industrial  (Seville).
