On Monday, the MIT School community will throw itself again into helping those most in need. But, this time, the action is even more special because it will be celebrated thanks to the initiative of the students of 1 º ESO! They are those who, while discovering Red Nose Day in English class, decided to coordinate it.
Red Nose Day is a well known date in UK since 1985, when the comedians Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry baptized with that name a telethon to raise funds for their charity, Comic Relief. That year, the money collected in the program (where they carried the famous clown noses) was used to combat famine in Ethiopia.
Nowadays, the aids are destined to places all around the world -also the UK itself- and the whole country gets involved in the action in many ways, as seen on their website. At MIT, the funds collected from the sale of the homemade cakes that will bring the students themselves will go to the local projects in Cáritas. We are really proud of an iniciative like this coming from students, and we are sure it will be very successful!
