FIRST LEGO League (FLL) presents to more than 200,000 young people aged 10 to 16 years old worldwide, a real world challenge they must solve by building robots that perform tasks on a game board refered to the theme of challenge. During the event, teams, guided by their imagination and their coach, discover future scientific and technological vocations, work in teams, program, learn and contribute positively in society.

Last year, MIT School won the Entrepreneurship Award in the  FLL tournament, which gave recognition to the team that showed more initiative and confidence throughout the challenge, knew how to face the problems maturely and found effective solutions to the adversities arising during the preparation and development of the FLL.

This year’s challenge is called Senior Solutions and its aim is to investigate the barriers faced by elder people, as well as to find innovative solutions to improve their life’s quality. Students at MIT, which also can choose the extracurricular activity Robotics and who, this year, will participate also in the important First Tech Challenge for students over 16, are already tuning their robots! In the words of the project manager, Mr. Arias: “We have almost completed the field and continue to progress in the final design of the robot. Teams are well organized and we will begin visiting senior centers for the science projects. The mechanical part is also progressing well. “

Cheer up, guys!
