Los alumnos y alumnas de Bachillerato de MIT School posan con la científica Margarita Salas en el PTA

MIT High School students pose with the scientist Margarita Salas at the PTA

Margarita Salas is a pioneer in Molecular Biology in Spain, besides being the first scientist woman to be member of the Real Academia Española. Salas is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences of USA, and has received, among other awards, the L’Oreal-UNESCO Prize “For Women in Science” 1999 and the Research Award King James I.

Therefore, the Parque Tecnológico de Málaga, the environment where MIT School is placed, has decided to inaugurate a street named after her in its new area, and organized a conference on Biomedicine of the XXI century last Monday. Our High School students attended it, and they even had the opportunity of meeting Salas in person! It was quite an honor!
