Escudo de MIT School

MIT School’s blazon

The MIT blazon shows the fundamental values of the School. That’s why it contains the atom symbol, representing the research, and the Greek Parthenon, symbolizing the universal values of the classical tradition. It also shows an athletic silhouette, which portrays the concept of “healthy mind in a healthy body”, while the feather represents the humanistic knowledge and the artistic and creative expression.

The blazon ends on its base in a golden band where the Latin motto “Nosce te Ipsum”, ie “Know thyself”, it’s written. It sums up the spirit of the School, as MIT believes that is essential in order to know and understand the world.
