The Malaga Karate team, with several MIT students among its members, has proclaimed winner again, this time in the Campeonato de Andalucía de Kárate de las categorías Alevín, Infantil y Juvenil. Granada, Seville and Cordoba followed, in that order, in the medals score.
The Torremolinos’ members, with six gold medals, two silver and three bronze, contributed forcefully to win the championship. Thus, in the male Youngsters category, Salvador Balbuena got a gold medal and was crowned champion of Andalusia, while Max Ramirez deservedly got the bronze medal. In juvenile female category, Paula Quesada was third in Andalusia, getting the bronze medal
In the Male Child category, the grand finale of the championship was performed by two Spain Champions, the MIT students Alfie Bannister and José Miguel Quesada. On the brilliant finale, performed under the highest technical level, Jose Miguel Quesada proclaimed champion winning the gold medal, and his partner, Alfie Bannister, took the silver medal.
In the Female Junior Kata category, two national medalists faced in the final: School’s student Carmen Garcia was proclaimed champion of Andalusia and Gold medal, and another colleague from the center, Marta Vega, won the silver. In Male Junior Kata, Alvaro Merida managed to win the championship by getting the gold medal, while Edoardo Paba got the bronze medal by capturing the third position.
In Children Kumite of less than 42 kg, Jose Miguel Quesada repeated victory when winning the championship again, getting a new gold medal. In Female Kumite Junior of less than 50 kg., Carmen Garcia got the last gold medal for the Torremolinos Karate by winning a grand final and becoming Champion of Andalusia.
