Traveling is not only fun and stimulating; it is also the most interesting and comprehensive way to learn about other cultures and ways of life, while broadening our perspective  about the world and putting in context our own environment. It also provides us with a higher level of empathy and even improves our creativity!

Due to all these benefits, including, of course, the improvement of the level of English, a new journey starts for the MIT School International Exchange Program. This time, the chosen country is again The United States, and the host institution is the Mc Queen High School, located in Reno, Nevada.

Reno is the county seat of Washoe and the third largest city in the state of Nevada after Las Vegas and Henderson. It is nestled 45 kilometers North of the state capital, Carson City, and 35 kms northeast of the famous Lake Tahoe. It is also  near the border with California. It has a population of 235,000 inhabitants and enjoys a dry and mild climate, with 300 days of sunshine a year.

The Mc Queen High School, established in 1982, is listed every year in the top 1,000 of the best American high schools, and its students are known for getting academics results that exceed the national average. The institution also has a great marching band, which has won numerous awards, and a long list of sports teams.

The high school students who decide to embark on this unforgettable experience will be fully integrated in both the academic and the domestic life of young Americans, as they will perform the same activities as the rest of their classmates and will live with them in their homes. But before that, the Mc Queen students will travel to Malaga to join MIT School, all resulting in a much more complete and enriching living together. We are looking forward to meeting our new friends!
