Although there has been much improvement in recent years, the English level of the Spanish adult population is still quite unsatisfactory. EF’s English Proficiency Index (EF EPI), the most complete ranking of countries or regions in the world according to English proficiency, ranks us 31st out of 88 countries confirming the study, far behind Sweden and the Netherlands, which top the list, and accompanied by Italy and France in the middle of the table.
However, despite the fact that we only got “passed” in English, the evolution of the teaching of this language is very promising, since in the seven years in which this study by the Ministry of Education has been carried out, we have moved from the lower part of the classification to the middle of the table. One more reason to continue betting on quality trilingual education as we do at MIT School.
