MIT student Margarita Morata

The National Karate member and MIT student Margarita Morata, has achieved, for the third year running, the title of European Champion by winning the final against England with a convincing 5-0, getting the first Gold for the Spanish team in the Junior category.

Another component of the national team and also a MIT student, Antonio García, won two Bronze medals after making a superb European Junior Championship. Thus, in solo kata got the first bronze medal in a huge match against Italy, which won by a tight 3-2. The following medal was won in the equipment tournamnet, in which Spain was out of the Gold medal after losing 2-3 against the Turkish team, hosts of the Championship held in Konya (Turkey).

Thanks to the efforts and talent of both our students and the rest of the national team, Spain won the third place in the Championship. Congratulations to all!
